    cat breeds
    eaglegirlie444 asked:

I’m looking for help from someone who is good at determaning cat breeds or what breeds they have in them. I have a beautiful cat and would like to know the breeds in her. She is shorthair and almost completely black, with a white spot on her chest, and under the stomeach, with one by each leg. She also a whiute spot on her back right toes. Her tail is slightly curled at the end and always sticks straight up when she is standing.

Unless she has a certain eye color or ear shape, I would say shes a American short-hair.

I think it may be a tabby cat.
Most people would think tabbys are only orange but most tabbys can be black and white with a curled tail and short hair. It could be tabby and some other black cat mixture.

Sounds like a tuxedo cat to me. They are really pretty cats! some have white feet and a white chest. Some have a lot of white and some have hardly any. Nevertheless it sounds like a tuxedo cat. If your still not sure, look it up on google. just google cat breeds. Hope I Helped! :D

Most likely, a domestic shorthair (mutt). Coloring varies a lot, even within a breed. The Cat Fanciers Association has a list of recognized breeds that you’ll see in cat shows. However, even a purebred and a purebred sometimes produce kittens that couldn’t be shown because their coloring, markings, or body shape are not “standard” for their breed.

You can check the CFA website to see what breeds she most closely resembles but really, having a cat is the best no matter the pedigre.

Doesn’t sound like any particular breed - like 98% of the cats on this planet. Cats have been domesticated for nearly 4,000 years and crossbred for just as many so the majority of cats bear no traits whatsoever of any particular breed.

Most black domestic cats have a little patch of white or just a few strands of white hair in their coats. It’s very rare to find a solid black domestic. Black cats were once considered evil and when they were found they were killed so there were very few pure black ancestors of our modern day black domestics.
