Anarchist asked:
I’m getting a cat soon and i want it to be really unusual looking, like grey but with black stripes at the eyes or unusual eye coloring…something along those lines.Does anyone know the names of those types of cats…like for example “Simese cats” or “tom cat”.

So if anyone could reccomend some unusual breeds of cats, that would be awesome and if you can please provide pictures of the breed.

Go to the Cat Fanciers Association web page to see unusual breeds. But keep in mind that there are lots of mixed breed cats that have unusual markings or colors, so take a look at your local shelters. Have a look on and see if you can find one.

You want strange get one of these. Don’t have to worry about fleas or shedding cat hairs all over the place.
Otherwise I’d just go to a local animal shelter and pick out a kitten you like. There are literally hundreds to choose from.

Manx! I love my babies. They have no tails or a little stubs for them. They are really really smart! They love to fetch and be petted. They come in all colors from tabby, calicos, ragdolls, and I have even seen Himalayans. My youngest came from the local rescue league so you can rescue one from there. She is an orange tabby and my oldest is a black and white manx kind of looks like a cow in his markings.

Some of the more unusual looking cat breeds are Sphynx, Munchkin, Minskin, Bengal, LaPerm, Devon Rex and American Curl.

Try this link for an unusual breed that I really like. The Egyptian Mau. Comes in multiple colors and designs.
But please look at your local shelters first, all my cats are throw -away cats that I have rescued.

If you like healthy sound cats, with a dog-like personality, look into LaPerms.
They come in all colours and patterns, all eye colours, but you also get a curly coat too.
Pets are very reasonbly priced and the breeders easy to work with as a whole.
I would avoid those breeds that are combinations of multiple mutations.

There are lots of great cats out there, but get one based on personality, not so much on looks. Some breeds (like Siamese) love humans and need lots of attention; other breeds need less. If you don’t want a cat on your lap/bed/feet all the time, get one of the more independent ones.
You don’t have to get a fancy breed, either. Go to a shelter or two and you will see every kind of cat possible. Spend some time with several (shelters have visiting rooms for this).Pick one that you like and good luck.
