There are many breeds that have “pure” black fur. The Bombay is one. There are black Persians, Black Oriental Shorthairs (referred to as “ebony”),Black American shorthairs, and even mixed breeds with Siamese genes.

Most breeds have black as an accepted color (with no white hairs or spots or patterning). The Bombay is a deep deep chocolate black (in bright light you can see the brown). The Havana is lighter (definately not black). Those are the only two solid color dark cats I can think of.

There are a bunch of cats breeds that also come in black as well as other breeds, but the Bombay comes to mind.
