We already have a puppy that is 9 months old. he is a cross between a westie and a yorkie. We now want to get a cat. is it best to get a kitten and which breed will get along well with a puppy?

Oops — I think siamese kitties would stand up for themselves well.

HAHA! i think you may ned to rephrase your question! When i first read it i thought you were trying to breed a cat and a dog together!!

As for compatibility, as long as you get a kitten, the two of them will get used to each other after a few weeks and will soon be fast friends. There isn’t so much as a certain breed of cat that gets along better with puppies/dogs, but rather start them together when they are both young. Good luck!

Probably a Ragdoll. I am looking for one right now myself. I have herd they are the most nice cat you can get. Plus they don’t shed.
