Look on petfinder.com for one of those breeds then go adopt it from which ever shelter has it up for adoption for much cheaper than from a breeder. :o)

Prices vary by location dear. Prices also vary depending on the type of breeder. There are breeders who charge $800 for a Maine Coon while other charge $200. Any number can apply in this case. Some people give them for just 65 dollars so you should ask at the place where you wish to buy a cat.

You don’t say where you live, so I can only tell you what they cost in the UK. Most breeders charge different amounts depending on whether the kitten is pet quality, show quality or breeding quality. A pet quality ktiten for most breeds will cost upwards of £350 over here. Breeds that are very popular and where there are a lot of breeders, may start at a slightly lower price while those that are rare or in high demand will cost a bit more. From what I’ve heard, I get the impression that prices are a little lower in the US. Adult cats (eg retired breeding cats) generally cost a bit less.
DSH means domestic shorthair which is not a breed. The cost for a DSH will depend on where you get it from. A rescue will usually ask for a small donation to help cover costs. Some individuals who try to make money out of breeding their cat may ask for a lot of money for a DSH.

Bengal kittens or cubs can run from $800 and up depending on whether you want a pet, show or breeder quality cat. The bloodlines, markings and availability will determine price. Be very wary of kittens any less than this.
