Cogito asked:
Could someone please help me with some much-needed advice. What is the most suitable breed of cat for an indoor life in a one-bedroom apartment? Also, I am thinking of getting two kittens, so that they do not get bored. Maybe someone could recommend which sex to go for? Male or Female? All answers very greatly appreciated. Thank you very much in advance.

Go to your local shelter and spend time with some kittens. They have a lot of kittens there. Just pick out the calm one. Start out with one for now. You will be cleaning out the litter box twice a day with 2 indoor kittens. It’s up to you. I always have the best luck with boys. Please make sure you get him neutered as soon as he’s old enough. Good luck.

I would’nt be so particlular with what kind of breed, but I would suggest short-haired cats because they’d be excellent for closed areas like apartments without all the hair everywhere. I would also recommend either a boy-girl or girl-girl pair coz they get along well, two male cats would eventually become territorial as they mature. So, that’s all, good luck with your kitties!!!

Well, I have a Female Chausie and a Male Bengal in a 1 bedroom apartment. One is 13 weeks the other 12 weeks. They get along fine, sharing sleeping areas and food bowls. We work during the day so to get a 2nd cat was the best thing we could’ve done! Check my link for some videos…
