My husband and I bought my cat when he was 6 months old. Now he is 8 months old. He is a very playful cat and I love him a lot. My husband and I decided to get a puppy for our home as well cause I looked up my cats breed which is a “bombay-mix with something else” and It said that the breed usually gets along with dogs and other pets. My neighbor has a BIG dog and my cat normally goes up to the gate and smells him and everything is fine. So I thought it would be okay and everyone else did too. So we bougfht a puppy 8 weeks old the other day. We brought him home and my husband held the puppy and I held my cat and let them snif each other and it was fine until 15 minutes later my cat started growling non stop for at least an hour and when the puppy went to smell the cat my cat would hiss at him. They are both boys. I am very worried for my cat cause I feel he is tramatized. I know the puppy can be much and too excited (maybe thats it) but I just want my cat to calm down. What can I do?

The area where I live has COYOTES, and the last three cats were all american domestics and had the desire to go outdoors. I have had each one for about a year, then they got eaten. I’m starting to think that the breed is more of an outdoor type. I need a breed that is specially breed to NOT go outdoors. I need help. I have a fairly passive 3 year old male cat, and just don’t want a breed who will hurt him. he usually is on the road for about 5 daysthen home for a weekend and then back at it again

I’m not getting animals for fashion. It’s to take care of..To add to my family. I love animals…I once had like 13 dogs, 7 cats, fish, a turtle, a rabbit, and a ferret all at once…
for God’s sake..people! stop saying I’m too young to get pets and I’m not shallow…I just want to know what breeds and at what age these animals can mostly tolerate being together….I’m almost 29 golly! p.s I have 2 kids! Geesh
