Don Sphynx is originated from Russia but Cymric is originated from United Kingdom. Both Don Sphynx and Cymric are of same weight. Both Don Sphynx and Cymric has same life span. Don Sphynx may have more litter size than Cymric. Don Sphynx requires Low maintenance. But Cymric requires Moderate maintenance
Of Rusian origin, the Don Sphynx is an interesting looking, hairless breed. The cat came about in 1987 when a hairless cat was seen in Rostov-on-Don, a Russian city.
Cat breeder Elena Kovaleva rescued the kitten and it was at about 4 months of age that the kitten began to lose its hair. Later it was mated with a local tomcat and produced kittens which became the founding stock of the Donskoy breed.
The cat breed was recognized by the World Cat Federation in 1997 as well as the International Cat Association later on in 2005.
The Cymric is a naturally tailless cat although having said that, not every Cymric is completely tailless.
It’s actually a long-haired Manx cat this and thought to date back to 1750. It is one of the oldest cat breeds.
Known also as rumpies or stumpies, the taillessness of the Manx an Cymric started as a mutation among the island's domestic cat population. Long-haired kittens were born to Manx cats on the Isle of Man, but in the 1960s, similar kittens were born in Canada and then specifically bred.
The Cymric became popular, even though it took years for the Cymric to be recognized as a breed of its own by cat associations. The International Cat Association (TICA) gave the cat breed status in 1979.
The Don Sphynx is a medium-sized cat known for its large ears and its long, webbed toes.
